Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking an experienced designer with extensive heavy industrial and power plant knowledge to create 3D models and detailed drawings for structural steel, concrete, and ductwork. You will prepare layouts, review vendor drawings, and support cost estimating while coordinating with multiple disciplines and site teams to verify field conditions.

The role demands a high level of independence and teamwork, clear drawing notes, and the ability to build strong relationships

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating with plant staff, design engineering staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models and 2D/3D design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork.
• Prepare layouts and conceptual designs for projects.
• Review vendor shop fabrication drawings for accuracy.
• Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors; conduct site walk-downs for field verification.

Job description

This position requires 20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience. Job responsibilities include producing 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork, preparing layouts and conceptual designs, reviewing vendor shop fabrication drawings, preparing material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates, coordinating work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors, and performing site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability.

Skillsets and expertise required for this position include proficient using AutoCAD, 3D modeling experience is strongly preferred, experience in Microsoft/Bentley and/or Advanced steel structural software is preferred, steel/concrete detailing background is a plus. Must be able to produce clear, concise drawing notes, able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
