Renesas Electronics is seeking a Sr Staff System Engineer in the Low-Voltage GaN Marketing & Systems Group to drive next-generation IC product definitions and roadmaps. You will translate system requirements into silicon-level specifications and collaborate with design and marketing to deliver differentiated solutions.

In this hybrid role, you may work from San Jose, CA, Phoenix, AZ, or Chandler, AZ. Strong background in GaN power stages, motor control, and high-speed switching is essential,

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in power electronics, semiconductor systems, or motor drive design.
• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
• Expertise translating system needs into IC specifications and architecture.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate system-level requirements into detailed IC specifications (Rds-on targets, gate drive, protection features).
• Develop and influence multi-year chip architectures for GaN power stages.
• Collaborate with IC Design, R&D, and Marketing to align silicon with applications.
• Design, schematic-capture, layout, and validate high-power prototypes and EVBs.
• Perform system analyses, simulations, and benchmarking to quantify GaN value.
• Support tier-1 customer engagements at architecture level.
