Job Description Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Staff Product Manager to join our Software Technology Solutions R&D team based in San Diego or remotely with occasional travel.

In this leadership role, you will drive and lead a team of Product Managers and Product Owners responsible for the vision, strategy, and roadmap of our cloud-based software platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align features with measurable outcomes that deliver value to customers, and work with various teams to understand clinical, legal, regulatory, and customer support requirements, ensuring product readiness and regular releases.

The Sr Staff Product Manager for BD's next-generation cloud software platform will play a crucial role by leading the product team responsible for core platform services, collaborating with partners to understand market needs, and defining the product vision to maximize value for BD and our customers.

You will work with the product team to define requirements, test and validate releases with beta customers, coordinate with customers to address issues, and collaborate with other Product Managers to manage releases and deliver value.

BD's Software Technology Solutions (STS) organization drives innovation in connected health, data insights, and software development, emphasizing flexibility, growth, and impact. We support our associates' development and prioritize agile delivery and innovative software solutions to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Vision & Leadership: Provide strategic direction throughout the product lifecycle.
• Product Definition: Develop clear product and feature scope documents.
• Stakeholder Communication: Keep clients informed and lead release planning.
• Strategic Planning: Research market trends and define business strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with hardware/software teams and manage customer experience trade-offs.
• Project Management & Dependency Oversight: Lead impediment mitigation, change management, and dependency management.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years in Product Management or related roles.
• Experience with PaaS/SaaS products and 3+ years in people management.
• Proficiency in product strategy, cloud computing, APIs, and developer tools.
• Familiarity with tools like Aha!, Jira.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and product roadmap development.
