Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is hiring a professional nurse to provide evidence-based care in an assigned clinic specialty. You will perform general and specialized nursing duties as part of a health care team, documenting care in EMR and collaborating with patients, families, and colleagues to achieve optimal outcomes.

You will administer medications, monitor patient responses, and participate in teaching plans and continuity of care.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate from an approved accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Texas or ability to transfer.
• A minimum of two years of Staff Nurse experience in a specialty area.
• Preferred: bilingual English and Spanish.

Visa Information

Position Description

Employees in this classification are responsible for providingprofessional nursing care in an assigned specialty or subspecialtyclinic. They perform a variety of general and specialized nursingduties as part of a total health care team to provide the patientwith complete evaluations. Employees in this position generallyassist the head nurse in the supervision of other clinic personneland may substitute for this person in the event of his/her absence.May supervise and instruct subordinate nursing personnel. Receivessupervision from head nurse or physician, functions independentlywithin guidelines. May supervise ancillary nursing personnel in theperformance of certain tasks, and assists in training personnel.Work is performed under usual clinic conditions and requires a highdegree of contact with patients, families, and other clinicpersonnel and outside professionals.

Major/Essential Functions

• Assists with in-office visits and procedures per the provider'sorder and documents in EMR.
• Administers medications and manages refill requests.
• Reports data, identifies and reports alterations in patientresponses to assist in identifying problems and formulation ofgoals/outcomes and patient-centered plans of care in collaborationwith patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Assists in determining the physical and mental health status,needs, and preferences of patients and their families.
• Communicates patient data using EMR to support decision-makingto improve patient care.
• Implements teaching plans for patients and their families withhealth learning needs.
• Participates in identifying patient needs for resource referraland facilitates continuity of care.
• Attends Nursing staff meetings.
• Takes and records accurate vital signs and measurements.
• Communicates with patients via telephone per clinicprotocols.
• Prepares and operates necessary equipment and instruments forexaminations, treatments, and procedures.
• Stocks and inspects inventory of supplies in examination andtreatment rooms.
• Attends nurse in-service and other mandatory training tomaintain competency.

Occasional Duties

• May occasionally travel to Canyon clinic for work.

Required Qualifications

Graduate from an approved accredited nursing program; current RNlicense in the State of Texas or have the ability to transferlicense to Texas. A minimum of two years of Staff Nurse experiencein a specialty area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in OBGYN clinic or hospital settingpreferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
