Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse to perform a range of outpatient clinic duties under supervision. You will administer medications, immunizations and patient care procedures while maintaining EMR documentation and patient communication.
The ideal candidate holds a Texas LVN license (or temporary permit) and has at least two years of LVN experience in clinical settings; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Employees in this classification are experienced LVN's responsiblefor performing a wide variety of patient care activities in anassigned specialty or subspecialty outpatient clinic. Work isperformed under the direction of a staff nurse and/or physician aspart of a total health care team in providing complete evaluationsto patients. Works under the direct supervision of staff nurse orphysician. No delegated supervisory authority; may instructco-workers and supervise them in the performance of specialprocedures. Work is performed under usual clinic conditions,necessitating a high degree of contact with patients, families andclinic personnel.
Cross coverage at the offsite clinic when staffing needsoccur.
Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited program of vocationalnursing. Current Vocational Nursing license in the state of Texasor the attainment of a temporary permit from the Board of Nursingto practice vocational nursing pending full licensure in the stateof Texas. At least two years of LVN experience in a hospital,clinic or community-based environment.
