Unlock your potential with an exciting career opportunity in the Metro Detroit area! We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant with 4+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and have expertise in preparing financial statements, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, monthly variance analysis, journal entries, forecasting, and budgeting.

What You Will Be Doing

• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare timely entries to general ledger accounts.
• Plays a key supporting role for the month-end close process in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Prepares monthly account reconciliations, analyzes general ledger accounts, and prepares monthly variance analysis.
• Compiles and prepares forecasts and budgets.
• Investigates and prepares explanations of account variances.
• Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies and procedures.
• Analyzes data and trends and prepares reports as needed.
• Maintains safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility.

What We Need From You

• 4+ years of public accounting experience - Knowledge of accounting functions and principles (GAAP, Account Reconciliations, Monthly Variance Analysis, Forecasting/Budgeting, etc)
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel (i.e. VLookup and pivot tables), and Outlook.
• Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA
• Experience with Workday Financial a plus, but not required
