Job Description:

The propellant manufacturing engineer provides engineering support for the manufacture of propellant mixing and casting of rocket motors. Responsibilities include implementing process improvements, tracking operations and performance parameters to ensure high quality and on-time delivery, and making moderate improvements to systems and processes. Develops manufacturing strategies, participates in engineering project teams for new product releases, estimates manufacturing costs, and maintains records of manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:

• Manage complex projects or processes with oversight, communicate effectively within and outside the function.
• Make moderate to substantial system and process improvements, contribute to departmental goals.
• Achieve operational targets impacting departmental results.
• Investigate root causes of problems and develop corrective actions.
• Contribute to departmental planning, including budgets and operational plans.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience; or Graduate Degree with at least 4 years; or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab for data analysis and reporting.
• Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with statistical analysis.
• Understanding of rocket propulsion components and operation.
• Experience with Energetics and DOD contracts.
