Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Night shift Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3) / Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Level 4). The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment. This position will be located at our site in Iuka, Mississippi.
Position is on-site in Iuka, MS and cannot be performed remotely.
Manufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems. They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. Other duties may include:
Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Available Shifts:
B Shift Production: 7PM – 5:30 AM, Monday - Thursday (4x10’s)
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Manufacturing Engineer level or a Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Manufacturing Engineer
Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation; OR Master's Degree with 3 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operations.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period prior to starting. Clearance is not required to apply.
Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer
Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation; OR Master's Degree with 6 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operations; OR PhD with 4 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operations.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period prior to starting. Clearance is not required to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical).
Composites knowledge (i.e. hand layup, automated layup, cure experience, and/or machining experience).
Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience with root cause & corrective action processes and techniques.
Functional knowledge of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing work procedures.
Able to utilize Catia V5 and/or NX.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment.
Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

Salary Range: $79,800 - $119,600
Salary Range 2: $99,000 - $148,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
