Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a cloud-focused software engineer to build and manage cloud-native solutions for application teams. You will review code and cloud designs, implement testing, and participate in Agile ceremonies to drive secure, scalable infrastructure.

Expect collaboration with partners and ongoing production readiness initiatives. The role requires strong experience with cloud providers, IaC, CI/CD, and container technologies, along with proactive monitoring and incident response

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 60 months of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience.
• Experience must include 24 months with Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure or GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation).
• Proficiency in CI/CD and DevOps tools (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub or Gitlab).
• Programming/scripting in Python, Shell, Bash or Go; compute and container services including VMs, Docker, Kubernetes; troubleshooting in cloud using CloudWatch/Monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build cloud-based solutions and services for deployment, management, configuration, scaling, and supervision of applications.
• Participate in peer reviews of code and cloud design to ensure quality and best practices.
• Apply robust testing to ensure high-quality code and reliable infrastructure.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies to influence software delivery, provisioning, safeguards, and security agents.
• Monitor systems and applications, triage incidents, and remediate issues.
• Develop new patterns and solutions to improve production readiness and collaboration with technology partners.

Job Duties: Build cloud-based solutions/modules and services for application teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and supervise their applications. Actively participate in peer review of code and cloud design to ensure the code quality and best practices. Use robust testing procedures to ensure high quality code. Participate in Agile ceremonies to influence best practices pertaining to software delivery, provisioning infrastructure, adding safeguards, and installing security agents making infrastructure more robust and dynamic. Support with proactive daily system monitoring including reviewing system and application logs as well as responding to, triaging, solving, and remediating incidents. Implementing new Patterns and Solutions required to better assist application teams achieve production readiness. Participate in communication with technology partners, ensuring collaboration across technology and the business.

What you have

Job Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related field and 60 months of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience (60 months w/Bachelor’s or 24 months w/ Master’s) in a related occupation. Experience must include 24 months of experience involving the following: Cloud Provider experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Provider (GCP); Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation; CI/CD and DevOps Tools including Git, Bitbucket, Jenkin, Bamboo, Github or Gitlab; Programming and scripting using Python, Shell, Bash or Golang; Compute and Container services such as Virtual Machines, Docker, and Kubernetes; and Troubleshooting in cloud using tools such as CloudWatch, Cloud Monitoring.
