Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is hiring for a role focused on designing, developing and testing complete LEO-MAC firmware for real-time embedded environments. You will work within a cross-functional team to meet performance and use-case requirements across ground networks and satellites.

The candidate should have 5+ years in software development, mentoring/leadership experience, and familiarity with RF standards such as 4G/5G NR or related broadband wireless tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems.
• Experience with current and upcoming RF standards in cellular (4G/5G NR), WiMAX, 802.11ad, microwave backhaul, or related broadband wireless standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and bring up Kuiper-MAC FW components/drivers in a real-time embedded environment
• Working in a cross-functional environment to define multi-dimensional performance requirements (e.g., MIPs, memory BW)
• Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet end-to-end use case requirement
• Build component use-cases/test-cases and debug your code in LEO embedded environment
• Profile and execute the code on RTOS and/or bare-metal embedded environment
• Contribute in defining services and functionalities delivered by your FW-subsystems
• Define, document, test and debug your FW-HW interfaces
• Familiarity with SW/FW best practices (e.g., clean architecture, refactoring, …)

Project LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with MAC or L1 protocol feature development and addressing the throughput performance issues.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
