Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking Software Engineers to advance mission-critical in-vehicle applications for the Rivian R1 and future vehicles. You will develop best-in-class in-vehicle user experiences, collaborate with UX/UI teams to deliver polished interfaces, and test deeply in both lab and prototype Rivian vehicles.

Required BS in CS/Software Eng and 5+ years of experience with C++, Rust, Java or Kotlin; familiarity with Android Automotive OS, Qt and safety practices is

Role Summary

As we develop a fully integrated experience in our R1 and future vehicle lines, we need Software Engineers to help raise the bar for mission critical in-vehicle applications. Responsibilities

• Develop best-in-class in applications for in vehicle user experience, with a focus on mission critical user interfaces

• Create progressive, intuitive, and reliable applications for the Rivian in-vehicle experience

• Collaborate with the UX/UI Team and Studio Team to realize beautiful, cutting-edge UI and seamless integration with 2D and 3D content

• Test the in-vehicle experience in the lab and in Rivian prototype vehicles

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues found during testing

• Help drive research into new technologies and interfaces

• Collaborate with other divisions in understanding and sharing technology roadmaps, portfolios, and intellectual property

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years of experience with software development life cycle experience, from requirements gathering through to implementation and maintenance

• 5+ years of experience with any of the following: C++, Rust, Java or Kotlin

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the Functional Safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and best practices for automotive software development

• Experience with Android application frameworks

• Experience with Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS)

• Experience with Qt, including Qt Safe Renderer, in an automotive environment

• Deep understanding of user-friendly, immersive, reactive user interface development

Payments are discretionary and not guaranteed; actual amounts depend on company results and the terms of the plan in effect, and require active employment at the time of payout.
