Job summary

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies in Bellevue, WA, seeks a Software Development Engineer to design and build highly scalable distributed systems that orchestrate workcells, robots, and associates across fulfillment centers. You will own components from design to delivery and collaborate with Product, Science, and Operations teams.

You will work with AWS technologies, be data‑driven, and contribute across front end, back end, and internal tools.

Qualifications

• 3 years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 2 years of non‑internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems
• 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1 year of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C, Java, or Perl
• 1 year of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design and Build highly scaled and efficient solutions using the latest AWS technologies and infrastructure.
• Own and maintain some of the most business critical systems for Amazon that support hundreds of thousands of associates and millions of customer orders per day as they travel through our Fulfillment Centers.
• Work with partner teams including Product, Science, Operations and other Tech teams to understand problems, ensure solutions solve those problems and iterate once solutions are live.
• More than just coding. Engineers are multi‑talented at Amazon. You might work on front end, back end, data analysis, internal tools, etc.
• Hire and Develop the Best. Deeply involved in the hiring process as well as onboarding and mentoring less experienced engineers.
