We are looking for a Senior Software Developer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC (hybrid).

In this role, you will serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, and modernizing scalable, secure, and business-critical enterprise software solutions. This is not entry-level or “learn-on-the-job” position. Successful candidates must have demonstrated experience in building and supporting enterprise-grade software applications in production environments and be capable of contributing immediately with minimal supervision, training, or ramp-up time.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of delivering cloud-native applications, modernizing legacy systems, building APIs and distributed services, and driving technical excellence through hands‑on development, architecture contributions, code reviews, and mentoring. This role requires strong technical judgment, ownership, and the ability to independently deliver complex software solutions while collaborating effectively across globally distributed teams.

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Designing, developing/maintaining scalable, secure, & high-performance enterprise software solutions
  • Supporting application modernization initiatives, including migrating legacy systems to modern, cloud-based architectures
  • Building cloud-native and web-based applications using modern frameworks, APIs, and microservices
  • Contributing hands‑on through coding, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipeline development
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners and providing technical guidance to junior, offshore, and contract developers
  • Applying and promoting software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle
  • Integrating AI capabilities into existing tools and applications to improve efficiency, automation, and user experience

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of recent, hands‑on experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise‑grade software applications in production environments. Candidates must demonstrate a proven record of independently delivering complex software solutions, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing technical leadership as a senior engineer.
    • Software development using modern programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or similar
    • Strong hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience is required. Candidates must have practical experience developing, deploying, monitoring, securing, and supporting applications in Azure production environments. Experience limited to exposure, coursework, certifications, or non‑production projects will not be considered sufficient. AWS experience is a plus.
    • Experience developing and supporting enterprise software applications, web applications, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems is required. Experience primarily focused on mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, CAD/CAE tools, simulation platforms, engineering analytics, or engineering support tools does not qualify as equivalent enterprise software development experience.
    • Application modernization, legacy system migration, and API‑based integrations
    • CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and code quality standards
    • Full software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment
    • Experience integrating AI or data‑driven capabilities into existing applications
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading technical initiatives as a Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead without direct people‑management responsibility.
  • Experience developing enterprise SaaS, cloud‑native, or business‑critical applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver large technical features and solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working within highly available, secure, scalable, and reliability‑focused enterprise environments.
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed and offshore development teams.
  • Experience with containerized and cloud‑native architectures, including Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and platform modernization initiatives.

  • Contribute production‑quality code & meaningful technical deliverables within the first 30‑60 days.
  • Quickly establish ownership of assigned applications, services, and modernization initiatives.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and drive technical decision‑making.
  • Design, develop, and support APIs, integrations, and cloud‑native services.
  • Lead modernization efforts from legacy applications to Azure‑based architecture.
