Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Wendell, NC seeks a Continuous Improvement Lead to drive lean transformation across production, logistics, and fabrication. You will partner with plant leadership, engineering, and business teams to implement daily improvements and Kaizen initiatives, bridging manufacturing with digital technologies.

This role focuses on using data, automation, and Industrial AI to create smarter, more efficient operations, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in Process Engineering, Operations Management, Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement, including implementation responsibility within a production environment.
  • Demonstrated practitioner of Lean/CI approaches and tools such as 5S/6S, VSM, Standardized Work, 8D/A3, Yamazumi, TPM, Pull Systems, SMED.
  • Proven ability to communicate across multiple disciplines and lead change in ambiguous and complex environments where alignment and accountability of multiple stakeholders is necessary for implementation success.
  • Group facilitation experience / public speaking skills / presentation / coordination skills and strong ability to moderate discussions and guide teams toward success.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Shopfloormanagementsystem ownership: strengthening manufacturing capability and performance with new management enablers such as visual process controls, indicators, signals, escalation protocols, accountability, standardization, fast-response problem solving, audits, and sustaining mechanisms.
  • Kaizen / sprint / workshop facilitation: build customized work events using best-fit approaches, orchestrate pre-work and logistics, and guide participants through collaboration to speed improvement projects.
  • Building organizational competency and fostering CI culture: provide training, coaching, and pathways for staff to learn, adopt, and practice continuous improvement principles.
  • Structured problem-solving and process stabilization: own RCA, PDCA, 8D, A3 to address gaps and ensure preventative measures, map learnings back into the management system.
  • Roadmap and strategy development: translate technical analysis into requirements, features, user stories, backlogs, roadmaps, and value propositions.

About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:

The EA Business Unit’s U.S. headquarters in Wendell, North Carolina, specializes in medium‑voltage power distribution equipment, including primary and secondary switchgear, controllers, contactors, circuit breakers, as well as OEM and replacement/retrofit solutions and services.

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Lead. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.

Help shape the future of manufacturing. In this key leadership role, you'll drive lean transformation and operational excellence across production, logistics, and fabrication operations. Working closely with plant leadership, engineering, and business teams, you'll implement daily improvement practices, lead Kaizen initiatives, and develop innovative solutions that improve productivity, quality, and performance.

You'll also help bridge manufacturing and digital technologies, using data, automation, and Industrial AI to create smarter, more efficient operations..

  • Basic project management skills necessary for achieving coordinated activity on-timeand within promised scope(Gantt/timeline, RACI,prioritization,dependency mapping, riskmanagement).
  • Highproficiencyinprocess mapping tools such asVisio or similar and the ability to communicate effectively across groups using data,models, and visuals.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems(SAP preferred)andunderstanding ofhowERPandmaster datainteractionsshape physicalshopfloorflow conditions.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
