Job Summary

Comcast Business Public Sector IT is an organization within Comcast’s Technology and Product Division, mainly located on the east coast (greater Philadelphia and the DC area). We support IT applications and infrastructure for the Comcast Business Public Sector LOB serving federal and state agencies.

Job Description

This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship. To be considered, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

In this role, you will gain exposure to the entire IT ecosystem supporting our new Comcast Business Public Sector LOB, ensuring it is secure, reliable, resilient, and supports efficient business processes with customer-centric applications. You will help set the IT vision and roadmap for this greenfield ecosystem, focusing on architecture, development, deployment, and support of applications and infrastructure.

As a Senior Software Development and Engineering Engineer, you will plan, design, analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications. You will oversee documentation, train non-technical personnel, track performance metrics, and act as a key contributor in a complex environment. You may lead teams or projects and share your expertise.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and conduct analysis for integration needs.
• Design, support, and customize software and web applications; develop update processes and assist in releases.
• Train junior engineers on internal software applications.
• Document technical requirements, evaluation plans, test results, manuals, and reports.
• Stay current with industry developments, monitor competitive applications, and review relevant literature and patents.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship throughout the design process.
• Track and evaluate performance metrics, ensuring timely, within-budget delivery.
• Work with QA to verify applications meet specifications.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Skills & Requirements

• College degree in business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with CSG Singleview / Encompass Billing Platform as a solution designer or SME.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Oracle, RHEL, Web Services.
• Experience with billing platforms and operations.
• SQL querying, programming (C++, Perl, PL/SQL, JavaScript).
• Professional interaction skills with all levels of the company.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Advanced SQL, ad-hoc reporting, and billing system development experience.
• Detail-oriented and committed to continuous learning.

Public Sector Skills & Requirements

• Ability to pass Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) security clearance or other required clearances.
