Comcast Business Public Sector IT is an organization within Comcast’s Technology and Product Division, mainly located on the east coast (greater Philadelphia and the DC area). We support the IT applications and infrastructure for the Comcast Business Public Sector line of business, serving federal and state agencies. Job Description

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be involved in planning, designing, and implementing new software and web applications supporting our Public Sector IT ecosystem. You will analyze, test, document, and assist with integration, and may lead projects or teams. Your role includes training, performance tracking, and providing technical leadership in a complex environment.

Core Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and analyze integration needs.
2. Design, support, and customize software and web applications; oversee deployment and updates.
3. Train junior engineers and document technical activities.
4. Stay current with industry developments and evaluate related applications and patents.
5. Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
6. Track performance metrics and ensure timely, within-budget delivery.
7. Coordinate with QA to ensure applications meet specifications.
8. Exercise independent judgment and maintain punctuality.

Skills & Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical or business discipline.
2. 5+ years experience with CSG Singleview / Encompass Billing Platform as a solution designer or SME.
3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
4. Familiarity with Oracle, RHEL, Web Services, and billing operations.
5. Programming skills in SQL, C++, Perl, PL/SQL, JavaScript.
6. Ability to interact professionally across all levels.
7. Detail-oriented with a commitment to ongoing learning.

Public Sector Skills & Requirements

• Ability to pass Homeland Security security clearance or similar.
