Job summary

ClassPass is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and evolve the backend systems powering our platform. You will partner with Product, Design, and QA to move ideas from concept to production in a reliable, scalable manner, while championing testing, code reviews, and strong observability.

You will design robust microservices, work with SQL databases, and help shape architecture across a growing service-oriented ecosystem. A collaborative, autonomous team culture is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience (8+ years) building and operating backend systems for large-scale SaaS platforms.
• Proficiency in object-oriented languages such as Java, Kotlin, C#, and comfort in a mixed stack.
• Experience architecting and designing backend services in a microservices environment.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like New Relic or Kibana and proactive risk mitigation.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, design patterns, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills with performance focus.
• Clear communicator who collaborates across roles and styles.
• Motivation to deliver meaningful solutions and support growth.

The Role You'll Play

• You’ll help build and evolve the backend systems that power ClassPass, partnering closely with Product, Design, and QA to take ideas from concept to production in a way that’s reliable, scalable, and grounded in real customer needs.

The Experience You’ll Bring

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and work location. The goal of Company's compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization.

The base salary range for this position in the United States is $151,000 to $200,000. The total compensation package may also include a performance bonus, benefits, and other applicable incentive compensation plans.
