Interactive Brokers in New York, NY seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to build and maintain our compliance surveillance infrastructure.
You will work with quantitative engineers, surveillance model developers, and Compliance stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable software designs. Architect and implement large-scale data pipelines and surveillance models processing massive financial data, design schemas for multi-terabyte datasets, and ensure regulatory alignment.
Sr. Software Engineer (New York, NY) (Hybrid: Remote work permissible 2 days/week) (multiple positions)
Build, develop, and maintain company’s compliance surveillance infrastructure.
Collaborate effectively with quantitative engineers, surveillance model developers, and Compliance stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable software designs and processes.
Architect and implement large-scale data pipelines and surveillance models that process massive volumes of financial data.
Design database schemas and query logic to efficiently handle multi-terabyte surveillance datasets, ensuring data consistency and traceability.
Ensure systems are stable and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
Work with compliance department to implement necessary system and software changes to ensure effective market surveillance.
Develop software to accelerate workflows and system monitoring.
Document methodologies to withstand regulatory scrutiny and examination.
Remote work permissible 2 days/week. Must work from NYC office 3 days/week.
RequiresMaster’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field, and three (3) years of experience in a software development/engineering position developing with Python (non-scripting).

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $185,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and location.
