Job summary

Edmentum is a remote-first company focused on tech-enabled learning solutions for educators and students. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to shape solutions, modernize legacy systems, and drive innovation in our evolving product landscape.

You will design scalable software with .NET and Angular, mentor engineers, collaborate with product teams on viability and estimates, and promote AI-first development while ensuring accessibility and quality across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with scalable web apps using Angular or React.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted development and context engineering.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping solutions that impact educators and students every day. You'll leverage your technical depth and leadership to guide delivery from idea to production, modernize legacy systems, and drive innovation in our evolving product landscape.

In this role you will:

  • Architect and deliver high-quality, scalable, accessible software solutions using modern .NET and Angular frameworks.
  • Lead technical design sessions and mentor team members to elevate engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with product stakeholders to consult on solution viability and estimation.
  • Modernize legacy web applications and drive adoption of best practices.
  • Proactively identify and address technical risks and inefficiencies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions and processes.
  • Take ownership of the entire solution lifecycle, emphasizing quality and iterative value delivery.
Who You Are
  • You embrace AI/agentic assisted development backed by advanced context engineering and promote AI-first workflows across the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • You use AI to improve the speed, quality, and consistency of engineering work while applying strong technical judgment, critical evaluation, and debugging skills to validate, challenge, and refine AI-generated recommendations and outputs.
  • You are highly proficient in C#, modern .NET, and functional programming concepts.
  • You have a proven track record in scalable web application development using Angular (or React), including attention to usable interaction patterns and WCAG-aligned implementation.
  • You are a strong analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • You have experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), DevOps practices, and cloud-native development considerations in AWS environments.
  • You are results-oriented with excellent attention to detail and quality.
  • You are a self-starter who thrives in Agile environments and operates with autonomy.
  • You have strong computer science fundamentals and a collaborative mindset.
  • You are committed to inclusion and cross-functional teamwork.
  • You demonstrate integrity, ethics, and alignment with Edmentum's mission.
  • You have a BS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • You are willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
  • Preferred location - Minnesota or Central Time Zone

Pay range for this role:

$130,000-$140,000 USD

Actual compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill sets. All compensation decisions are individualized and based on the specific circumstances of each candidate.
