Americo is hiring a Sr Software Architect to shape the technical direction of our software in Kansas City. Youll work with business leaders, IT leadership, and development teams to turn strategic goals into scalable system designs, evaluating options for cost, usability, reliability, and maintainability.

Reporting to the Director of Software Development, you will help developers follow best practices and align with architecture standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 7+ years in software development/architecture.
• Experience with .NET Framework/.NET Core.
• Strong ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with company leaders to understand strategic business direction and anticipate future technology needs.
• Provide technical guidance on system design, implementation and integration engineering.
• Build proof of concept projects to demonstrate and validate new technologies.
• Research emerging tools and technologies and assess their value to software development at Americo.
• Document system designs, interfaces and implementation so stakeholders understand them and support the proposed solutions.
• Work with IT leadership to consider how architectural decisions affect the entire technology portfolio.

Americo is hiring a full time Sr Software Architect to join our expanding team

Overview

Americo is looking for a Sr Software Architect to shape the technical direction of our software In this role youll work with business leaders IT leadership and development teams to turn strategic goals into sound scalable system designs Youll evaluate design alternatives against real world constraints such as cost schedule usability reliability maintainability and availability Then youll recommend the best path forward Your decisions will set the core properties of our systems so youll need good judgment about trade offs and the ability to bring others along with your thinking Reporting to the Director of Software Development youll also help our developers follow best practices and keep their work aligned with architecture standards

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with company leaders to understand strategic business direction and anticipate future technology needs
• Provide technical guidance on system design implementation and integration engineering
• Build proof of concept projects to demonstrate and validate new technologies
• Research emerging tools and technologies and assess their value to software development at Americo
• Document system designs interfaces and implementation so that stakeholders understand them and support the proposed solutions
• Work with IT leadership to consider how architectural decisions affect the entire technology portfolio

Required Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing applications with the NET Framework and NET Core
• Experience with Agile software development processes
• Experience with Azure DevOps for application lifecycle management and source control
• Knowledge of relational databases preferably SQL Server
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non technical audiences
• A bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field
• 7 years of experience in software developmentarchitecture
