Job summary

Expert Technology Services seeks a Senior Software Engineer I (AI) to build and enhance production-grade backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot. You will work with AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, review AI-generated code for quality, and ensure security and performance.

Collaborating with the AI-Native Tech Lead and cross-functional teams, you will implement workflows with Temporal.io and Camunda, participate in design reviews, and drive reliable cloud-native

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance production-grade backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java, Spring Boot.

• Develop and enhance production-grade backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot).
• Utilize AI-native engineering workflows for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation to accelerate high-quality software delivery.
• Review and refine AI-generated code to ensure correctness, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Integrate backend services with workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Temporal.io, Camunda) for automation and intelligent routing.
• Collaborate closely with AI-Native Tech Lead and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features, balancing speed and quality.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and clearly communicate engineering solutions and tradeoffs.
• Ensure compliance with technology standards, secure coding practices, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; continuously work to improve system performance and reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps processes, and cloud-native deployments (OpenShift/Kubernetes, AWS).
• Continuously expand knowledge in AI-assisted development and help refine team engineering practices.
• Complete annual performance objectives and support special projects as assigned.
