Job summary

Cotiviti is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to build and enhance production-grade Java/Spring Boot microservices. You will work with AI-assisted workflows, review AI-generated code for quality, and integrate services with workflow platforms for automation and decision support.

Experience with REST, relational databases, CI/CD, and cloud deployments is required. Strong collaboration skills and Agile experience are essential for delivering features end-to-end in a fast-evolving environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of backend/enterprise software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices with REST APIs.
• Experience with AI-assisted tooling (Claude, Copilot) as part of daily workflow.
• Relational databases/SQL (PostgreSQL/Oracle) and data modeling.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Exposure to workflow orchestration platforms (Temporal, Camunda, Flowable, JBPM, or Drools).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and Agile experience (SAFe preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance production-grade Java/Spring Boot backend services and APIs.
• Review, validate, and refine AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and security.
• Integrate services with workflow orchestration platforms to support automation and decision support.
• Collaborate with AI-Native Tech Lead and data teams to deliver features end-to-end.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud-native deployments; improve system reliability.
