Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (Xilinx, Inc. subsidiary) is seeking a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, verify, and test ASIC-oriented components for advanced semiconductor devices in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves defining architectures, simulating modules, and analyzing timing across flat and hierarchical flows, with expertise in RTL quality checks, EDA tools, and TCL scripting. Travel is not required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
• Experience with RTL quality checks, timing constraints, and timing analysis.
• Proficiency with EDA tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler, PrimeTime, SpyGlass and FishTail.
• Ability to script in TCL within EDA environments and Linux TCL shells.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
• Define module interfaces for simulation and contribute to multidimensional IC designs.
• Evaluate the design flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing/power use.

Job Role and Responsibility:

Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Oversee definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work in an area of specialization to develop ASIC/layout design, working on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company products.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:

• Working with EDA tools that enable RTL quality checks;
• Building the timing constraints for IPs, blocks, and full-chip implementation in flat and hierarchical flows;
• Analyzing timing reports and identifying design and constraints-related issues;
• EDA tool experience in Synopsys Design Compiler or PrimeTime, SpyGlass, and FishTail; and
• TCL-based scripting capability in EDA environment and standalone Linux TCL shell scripts.
