Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Lead / Scrum Master to support cross-functional Marketing Technology work. This person will serve as the operational backbone of the team, creating visibility, coordinating activity, reinforcing accountability, and helping work move forward across multiple stakeholders and dependencies.

Our organization operates within SAFe today, but the role requires flexibility rather than strict adherence to a single methodology. Over time, the work may incorporate more project management practices. The right candidate will be comfortable selecting and applying the delivery approach that best fits the work, the team, and the outcome.

This person should be proactive, highly organized, and willing to work at the level of detail needed to keep delivery moving. They should identify risks early, pursue blockers through resolution, and clearly escape issues that require leadership support.

Delivery Leadership

Create and maintain an integrated view of active work, priorities, milestones, dependencies, and commitments.

Turn broad goals into clear actions, owners, sequencing, and next steps.

Drive consistent follow-through on team commitments and action items.

Maintain delivery momentum across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.

Visual Management & Work Tracking

Establish and maintain effective boards, dashboards, plans, RAID logs, and other visual management tools.

Ensure work items contain enough detail for teams and stakeholders to understand scope, ownership, status, and next steps.

Keep delivery information current, accurate, and easy to interpret.

Provide concise status reporting that highlights progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions needed.

Identify blockers, delivery risks, resource constraints, and cross-team dependencies early.

Actively pursue resolution rather than only documenting or reporting issues.

Escalate concerns requiring leadership attention with clear context, impact, urgency, and recommended action.

Track issues through closure and communicate outcomes to affected stakeholders.

Facilitate effective team ceremonies, including stand-ups, planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and PI planning activities.

Help the team navigate SAFe practices and participate effectively in ART-level planning and coordination.

Partner with product and technology leaders to support backlog readiness, prioritization, capacity planning, and delivery flow.

Use retrospectives and delivery data to identify practical improvements in team effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Coordinate work across product, marketing, technology, business partners, and external vendors.

Facilitate conversations that clarify priorities, ownership, decisions, timelines, and tradeoffs.

Improve communication and handoffs across teams.

Build trusted working relationships while holding stakeholders accountable for commitments.

Flexible Delivery Practices

Apply Agile, SAFe, Kanban, project management, or hybrid practices based on the needs of the work.

Maintain project plans, milestones, decision logs, and stakeholder communications where appropriate.

Introduce structure without creating unnecessary process or administrative overhead.

Help the organization evolve its delivery practices as team and portfolio needs change.

Required Experience & Capabilities

Experience in delivery leadership, Scrum Master, project management, Agile program management, or a comparable role.

Experience supporting technology delivery teams and cross-functional business stakeholders.

Working knowledge of SAFe and Agile delivery practices, with the judgment to apply them pragmatically.

Demonstrated strength in visual management, detailed work tracking, risk management, dependency coordination, and issue escalation.

Strong facilitation and stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to make complex delivery information clear and actionable.

Ability to influence, create accountability, and move work forward without relying on formal authority.

Consistent follow-through, sound judgment, and a strong bias toward action.

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting Marketing Technology, digital, customer experience, commerce, or related platforms.

Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Issues, or comparable tools.

Experience coordinating vendors or third-party delivery partners.

SAFe Scrum Master, Advanced Scrum Master, PMP, PMI-ACP, or a comparable certification.

Experience in an organization evolving between Agile and more traditional project delivery models.

What Success Looks Like

Leaders and teams have a clear, shared view of work, status, ownership, dependencies, and risks.

Work items and plans contain enough detail to support execution and informed decision-making.

Actions and commitments are actively managed through completion.

Blockers and risks are surfaced early, pursued through resolution, and escalated appropriately.

Team ceremonies and planning activities lead to clearer decisions and stronger delivery, rather than becoming process for its own sake.

Stakeholders view this person as a trusted delivery partner who brings clarity, structure, and momentum.

Candidate Attributes:

Comfortable moving between strategic context and task-level detail.

Flexible in approach, but disciplined about outcomes and follow-through.

Calm and credible when surfacing difficult issues or delivery concerns.

Curious enough to understand the work, without needing to be the technical expert.

Collaborative and service-minded, while willing to challenge ambiguity, missed commitments, and unclear ownership.
