Job summary

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc. seeks a Senior Scheduler to lead the development, monitoring, and optimization of complex project schedules, ensuring project success and alignment with goals.

You will establish standards, oversee CPM analyses, and coordinate with PMs and Superintendents. Expertise in Primavera P6, resource and cost loading, and risk mitigation are essential, PMI-SP/PSP preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years' experience in construction, engineering, or design, focusing on commercial construction.
• Expert-level Primavera P6 with advanced resource and cost-loading techniques.
• Ability to manage complex schedules in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project data.
• Certification (e.g., PMI-SP or PSP) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and train project teams on scheduling standards and best practices.

• Perform resource loading and analysis, integrating data into schedules to support planning.
• Conduct cost loading and analysis, ensuring financial alignment within schedules using Primavera P6.
• Lead the creation of bid proposal schedules defining work sequences and timelines.
• Assist with baseline schedules, forming the foundation for project execution.
• Analyze CPM schedule, coordinating with PMs and Superintendents to align procurement and construction.
• Monitor schedule quality and integrity across all project phases.
• Provide weekly/monthly updates with critical/near-critical path insights.
• Lead fragnets to address changes or delays with actionable solutions.
• Serve as primary technical advisor on scheduling issues and risk mitigation.
• Guide teams in short-term schedules, recovery plans, and delay claim analyses.

The Senior Scheduler leads the company’s efforts in developing, monitoring, and optimizing complex project schedules to ensure successful project execution. This role provides strategic oversight, technical expertise, and mentorship to project teams, driving schedule integrity and alignment with organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Establish, maintain, and train project teams on company scheduling standards and best practices.

• Oversee the timely and accurate development and updating of project schedules using Primavera P6.

• Perform resource loading and analysis, integrating data into schedules to support project planning and tracking.

• Conduct cost loading and analysis, ensuring financial alignment within schedules using Primavera P6.

• Lead the creation of bid proposal schedules that clearly define work sequences and contract timelines.

• Assist with the development and maintenance of baseline schedules, serving as the foundation for project execution.

• Analyze the overall Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule, coordinating with Project Managers and Superintendents to align procurement and construction activities.

• Monitor schedule quality and integrity, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all project phases.

• Monitor weekly and monthly schedule updates, providing critical path and near-critical path insights to project teams.

• Lead the fragmentation (fragnet) of schedules to address changes or delays, proposing actionable solutions.

• Serve as the primary technical advisor on scheduling issues, resolving complex problems, and mitigating risks.

• Guide project teams in developing short-term schedules, recovery plans, and delay claim analyses, ensuring master schedule alignment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5-10+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or design, with a focus on commercial construction.

• Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6, including advanced resource and cost-loading techniques.

• Proven ability to manage complex schedules in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive project data.

• Certification (e.g., PMI-SP, PSP) preferred but not required.
