Job summary

Vaco by Highspring partners with a growth‑oriented, high‑volume ecommerce and distribution organization to hire a Senior Safety Manager for its Santa Fe Springs operation. This onsite role oversees a large warehouse environment and drives safety strategy, compliance, and culture for 2,000+ employees.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, eCommerce, or industrial settings.
  • Experience supporting large employee populations within complex operations.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with LOTO programs and machine guarding standards.
  • Experience with electrical safety, forklift/PIU programs, hazard identification and risk mitigation.
  • Proven success in improving safety programs, procedures, and policies.
  • Leadership, communication, and employee engagement skills; ability to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all safety programs and initiatives across a large warehouse and distribution operation.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/Cal/OSHA, LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, and forklift safety.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Analyze safety metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and risk reduction.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with operations, HR, and leadership to meet business goals safely.
  • Lead, coach, and develop safety personnel; manage corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety documentation, regulatory reporting, and records across shifts.

Senior Safety Manager (Ecommerce Environment)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA (Onsite)

Compensation: $115,000-$120,000 DOE

Overview

We are partnering with a growing, high-volume eCommerce and distribution organization to identify a Senior Safety Manager for their Santa Fe Springs operation.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving safety strategy, compliance, and culture across a large-scale warehouse and fulfillment environment supporting more than 2,000 employees. The Senior Safety Manager will lead a team of safety professionals while partnering closely with operational leadership to strengthen existing programs, improve processes, reduce risk, and elevate overall safety performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all safety programs and initiatives across a large warehouse and distribution operation
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Cal/OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout programs, machine guarding standards, electrical safety requirements, and powered industrial truck safety programs
  • Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Analyze safety metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and risk reduction
  • Develop and promote a strong culture of safety throughout the organization
  • Evaluate existing programs and recommend enhancements to improve compliance and operational effectiveness
  • Partner closely with operations, HR, and leadership teams to achieve business objectives while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Lead, coach, and develop safety personnel
  • Manage corrective action programs and ensure timely resolution of safety concerns
  • Maintain safety documentation, compliance records, and regulatory reporting
  • Support operational needs across multiple shifts as required
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive safety leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, eCommerce, or industrial environments
  • Experience supporting large employee populations within complex operational environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
  • Extensive experience with:
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Machine Guarding
  • Electrical Safety
  • Forklift and Powered Industrial Truck Programs
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation
  • Proven success improving and transforming safety programs, procedures, and policies
  • Experience leading audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Strong leadership, communication, and employee engagement skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
  • Experience leading large-scale safety transformation initiatives
  • Experience managing direct reports and developing safety teams
  • Previous experience supporting high-volume distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics operations
