Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Camden, NJ, is seeking a Senior Rust Software Architect and Technical Lead to advance next-generation systems and grow Rust expertise across the organization.

This role combines hands-on technical leadership, software architecture, and mentorship to help programs adopt Rust effectively, reduce ramp-up time, and align our capabilities with evolving customer requirements. A US Secret Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience can substitute for a degree.
• 2+ years of Rust production software experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and review architectures for next-gen Rust systems.
• Guide teams in applying Rust, reducing learning curves.
• Mentor engineers through reviews, workshops and code reviews.
• Develop reusable patterns, guidelines, and reference implementations.
• Evaluate designs, identify gaps and risks early.
• Provide technical input on Rust-based proposals and architectures.
• Translate customer needs into practical software designs.
• Recommend tools and practices to scale Rust adoption.
• Mentor engineers to build proficiency in Rust.
