Job summary

St. Mary's Regional Medical Center invites you to join as a Senior Respiratory Therapist on an in-house 13-week contract. You will support direct patient care and complex diagnostic testing, ensuring safety and accuracy in a collaborative Cardio Pulmonary department.

We value experienced therapists with credentials (RRT, Oklahoma license) and flexibility to perform advanced tests and rotating call duties. This role integrates into a strong clinical team at St. Mary's.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree minimum).
• Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional License. NBRC RRT credential required and maintained.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS within six months of hire; Secure training within six months; NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform core RRT responsibilities plus specialized cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures.
• Ensure safe, accurate testing and high quality patient care.
• Complete diagnostic procedures: Stress Tests, PFTs, EEGs, EKGs, Holter Monitoring, Pentamidine treatments, and more.
• Ensure proper electrode placement and accurate performance of EEG, EKG, Stress Testing, and Holter studies.
• Assess and monitor patient condition and recognize potentially critical situations.
• Perform full PFT testing: Pre/Post bronchodilator, DLCO, Plethysmography, Slow Vital Capacity.
• Conduct advanced testing: Histamine/Methacholine Challenge, Nitrogen Washout.
• Set up and download Holter monitors; deliver safe, accurate respiratory care.
• Support smooth departmental operations and participate in rotating call.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Respiratory Therapist, you'll support both direct patient care and specialized diagnostic testing. You'll ensure accurate procedures, monitor patient safety, and help maintain seamless departmental operations. Responsibilities include:

• Completing diagnostic procedures - Stress Tests, Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), EEGs, EKGs, Holter Monitoring, Pentamidine treatments, and more
• Ensuring proper electrode placement and accurate performance of EEG, EKG, Stress Testing, and Holter studies
• Assessing and monitoring patient condition and recognizing potentially critical situations during testing
• Performing full PFT testing including Pre/Post bronchodilator, DLCO, Plethysmography, and Slow Vital Capacity
• Conducting advanced testing such as Histamine/Methacholine Challenge and Nitrogen Washout
• Setting up and downloading Holter monitors
• Delivering safe, accurate respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary difficulties
• Supporting smooth departmental operations and participating in rotating call for the testing department

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Licensure / Certification / Training

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate degree minimum)
• Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional Letter (valid until Board meeting date listed)
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required and maintained
• BLS required until ACLS obtained
• ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire; annual recertification required
• SECURE training required within six (6) months of hire
• NRP preferred

Experience & Skills

• 1-3 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Typing and basic computer skills required
