Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a senior risk management and insurance leader to own the strategy and execution of our global insurance program. You will guide risk decisions and help the company confidently navigate a dynamic international market.

You will lead the development of risk management frameworks, collaborate with legal and third-party administrators, and drive continuous improvement in coverage, costs, and compliance across our technology-focused operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in risk management and insurance.
  • Experience in the technology industry or with hardware manufacturers.
  • Deep understanding of insurance principles, coverage types, and claims processes, including international markets.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive global insurance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess risks across technology, supply chain, and emerging trends.
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks to mitigate financial losses.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document processes for cargo, theft, and automobile policies.
  • Lead procurement and renewal of all insurance policies with comprehensive coverage.
  • Analyze costs and prepare reports on program performance and key risks.
  • Manage claims processes and coordinate with legal counsel and third-party administrators.

What You'll Do:
  • Proactively identify and assess a wide range of risks, including those specific to the technology industry, global supply chains, and emerging trends.
  • Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks and protocols to mitigate potential financial losses.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish and document processes related to cargo, theft, automobile policy, and others.

Policy Management & Administration:

  • Manage the procurement and renewal of all insurance policies, ensuring comprehensive coverage at competitive pricing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance policies, contracts, and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies, including international regulations and data privacy standards.
  • Lead the claims management process, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of all claims.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal counsel and third-party administrators, to investigate and analyze claims.
  • Advocate for the organization's interests in negotiations with insurance carriers.
  • Analyze insurance costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management on insurance program performance, key risks, emerging issues, and claims experience.

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with brokers, carriers, legal counsel, and other key stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of market trends and regulatory changes.

Training & Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance risk awareness and understanding of insurance principles across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to business units on insurance-related matters.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in risk management and insurance
  • Experience in the technology industry or with companies that manufacture and distribute hardware.
  • Deep understanding of insurance principles, coverage types, and claims processes, including international insurance markets.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive global insurance programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fluid environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as ARM, CPCU, or CRM.
  • Experience in a complex, multinational organization.
  • Experience with insurance programs for technology companies, including product liability, errors & omissions, and cyber insurance.
  • Fluency in one or more languages.
Salary Range

$123,000 - $140,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
