Job summary

Unitus Community Credit Union in Tigard, OR is seeking a Sr. Residential Equity Loan Processor to guide members through the loan fulfillment process and ensure compliant data collection. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), 2+ years in underwriting/processing of residential equity or mortgage loans, and solid knowledge of lending laws.

FHA/VA experience is a plus. This role offers competitive pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in underwriting, processing, originations, or closing in residential equity, mortgage, or consumer lending.
• At least 1 year of home equity/mortgage loan processing or underwriting experience.
• Working knowledge of home equity/mortgage lending laws and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proficient with lending platforms.
• FHA, VA, and/or construction loans experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process moderately complex applications; review/clear appraisals, income/asset and tax analysis, hazard and title insurance.
• Review approved residential equity loan and membership applications; process, disburse, and onboard loans.
• Coordinate with other institutions to ensure efficient processing and correct errors.
• Assess member needs and provide solutions to enhance the member experience.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper storage of documents.
• Serve as liaison for a second review and assist with staff training.

Sr. Residential Equity Loan Processor

Full Time Regular Non-Exempt Tigard Business Center, Tigard, OR, US

Salary Range: $28.12 To $39.37 Hourly

Primary duties:

• Performs processing activities for moderately complex applications; focusing on review, approval and/or clearance of appraisals, stipulations, income/asset and tax analysis, hazard and title insurance, flood certifications, and collateral encumbrances prior to closing and funding.
• Reviews approved residential equity loan and membership applications for accuracy and completeness; processes the loan and documents, disburses, and on-boards loans.
• Coordinates with other financial institutions and agencies to ensure efficient and effective processing, and assists in identifying and correcting errors, including follow‑up with involved parties as needed.
• Evaluates and communicates with members regarding needs and proactively provides appropriate solutions, contributing to a value‑added member experience.
• Maintains appropriate confidentiality of all member information and ensures proper storage for retrieval of documents.
• Acts as a liaison or primary point-of-contact for a second review
• May assist with initial training for processing staff.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; or equivalent work experience
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in underwriting, processing, originations, or closing in residential equity, mortgage, or consumer lending products
• At least 1 year of experience directly related to home equity/mortgage loan processing or underwriting.
• Must have working knowledge of home equity/mortgage lending laws and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and strong skills in navigation and use of lending platforms and systems.
