Job summary

Unitus Community Credit Union seeks a Member Advocate at the Beaverton Branch to provide excellent member service, process transactions, and promote credit union products. This full-time role offers growth within a community-focused institution.

The ideal candidate has at least one year in customer service, strong communication, and the ability to cross-sell financial services. NMLS and Notary Public certifications in OR/WA are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a fast-paced customer service role that includes in-person or telephone interactions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to use technology to accomplish tasks.
• Experience in a credit union or bank with cross-selling is helpful.
• Ability to be certified through NMLS and as a Notary Public in Oregon/Washington.
• Cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in opening new accounts, applying for loans, and learning about other services.
• Perform monetary and non-monetary transactions with accuracy and fraud awareness.
• Develop knowledge of credit union products and internal systems.
• Collaborate with staff across branches to research and resolve questions or concerns.

Salary Range: $20.44 To $27.60 Hourly

Primary Duties:

• Work with members in-person to leverage excellent consultation and sales skills to proactively assist new and existing members to open new accounts, apply for loans, and learn about and be referred to other lines of business
• Perform all types of monetary/non-monetary transactions using knowledge of fraud prevention, excellence in service, and accuracy in transactions processed
• Continuously develop knowledge of credit union products and services, as well as the internal computer systems used to manage member accounts
• Collaborate with other staff in branches or departments to research and resolve questions or concerns
• Exceed sales and service goals designed with a member focus

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• High School or equivalent certificate
• Must have a minimum of one year of work experience in a fast-paced customer service role that includes experience assisting customers in person or by telephone
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience in using technology to accomplish work
• Experience in a credit union or bank aiding with financial services products and using cross-selling skills is helpful
• Ability to be certified through NMLS and as a Notary Public in Oregon/Washington
• Experience with cash handling preferred
