Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Prior mortgage, real estate, banking, or similar sales-focused financial services role; at least 3 years as Mortgage Loan Officer/Originator or comparable position preferred.
• Demonstrated success in outbound sales, networking, and building a personal book of business.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a member-service mindset.
• Ability to be certified and maintain registration through NMLS as required for mortgage originations.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Unitus service areas.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) preferred.

• Consult with members to understand home financing needs, take complete applications, and guide them through options that align with Unitus products and lending guidelines.
• Build strong referral relationships with branches to drive a steady flow of mortgage opportunities.
• Participate in external business development activities to expand visibility and drive new purchase and refinance business.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Unitus mortgage products, pricing, procedures, and systems while following compliance requirements.
• Balance time between branches, remote work, and community engagement to manage pipeline and appointments.
• Consistently meet or exceed mortgage production goals (units and volume) and contribute to overall sales and service objectives.

This is a hybrid position based in Vancouver, WA and the surrounding area.

Compensation is a base salary of $42,000.00 plus commission.

Primary Duties:

• Source and develop mortgage leads by actively networking, leveraging your existing book of business, cultivating realtor and community relationships, and collaborating with branch staff to generate applications that convert to funded loans
• Proactively consult with members to understand their home financing needs, take complete and accurate mortgage applications, and guide them through options that align with Unitus' products and lending guidelines
• Build strong referral relationships with assigned and surrounding branches, earning the trust of branch teams to drive a steady flow of quality referrals and mortgage opportunities
• Regularly participate in external business development activities (e.g., community events, local chambers, networking functions) to expand visibility and drive new purchase and refinance business
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Unitus mortgage products, pricing, procedures, and systems, and follow all compliance, regulatory, and documentation requirements
• Balance time between working in branches, remotely, and in the community to effectively manage your pipeline, prospecting activities, and member appointments
• Consistently meet or exceed mortgage production goals (units and volume) while contributing to overall sales, service, and efficiency objectives

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Prior experience in mortgage, real estate, banking, or a similar sales-focused financial services role; at least 3 years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer/Originator or comparable position strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success in outbound sales, networking, and building a personal book of business, with the drive to source leads and convert them into funded loans
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a member-service mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships with members, branch staff, and community partners
• Comfort using technology and internal systems to take applications, manage a pipeline, and stay organized in a fast-paced, production-based environment
• Ability to be certified and maintain registration through NMLS as required for mortgage originations
• Willingness to travel on a regular basis within the areas Unitus serves
• Bilingual skills (especially Spanish/English) are preferred.
