We seek a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Scientist / Principal Scientist to join our Global Discovery & Innovation team. This position is based in our Atlanta R&I Center. You will work on pioneering projects that drive significant future growth in current and new Kemira business areas.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Technology scouting and building new partnerships
  2. Executing idea screening and incubation
  3. Proposing and executing Proof of Concept projects
  4. Planning, execution, and management of new technology exploration projects
  5. Managing technical aspects of projects and securing progress
  6. Technoeconomic calculations
  7. Patenting and managing intellectual property rights
  8. Managing internal stakeholders and external partners
  9. Daring to experiment, drive for results, proven self-starter
  10. Building relationships and new partnerships externally
  11. Managing and navigating stakeholders for maximum agility of projects
  12. Expertise in Inorganic Chemistry or Materials Science
  13. Knowledge of process chemistry, chemical engineering, construction industry materials, or mining process beneficiation chemistries
  14. Exploration of new technologies and solutions
  15. Executing longer innovation projects to create evidence and enable commercialization
  16. Collaborating with a global team across different time zones
  17. Up to 10% travel

What you'll bring to the team:

  • M.Sc. with over 5 years of work experience or
  • Ph.D. with 5 to 10 years of work experience

Examples of relevant experience include planning, execution, and management of product development projects, scaling up new technologies, technoeconomic calculations, technology scouting, building partnerships, patenting, chemical formulation, solving manufacturing process issues, or expertise in construction industry materials or mining process beneficiation chemistries.
