Requirements
Must have:
- We require a bachelors degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination such as a masters degree with 4 years of experience, a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience, or 10 years of related experience.
- We need 4+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, or 5+ years in a Scrum Master or Agile Program Manager role.
- We are looking for strong technical aptitude and a track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality software.
- We prefer experience using ALM tools; Rally or Targetprocess experience is an advantage.
- We require candidates to live in the metropolitan area of the job location and work in the office at least 2 days per week.
- We value experience interpreting agile metrics.
- We favor demonstrated ability to facilitate large planning and solutioning sessions.
- We prefer a solid understanding of Agile-at-scale philosophies and methodologies.
- We value experience with Organizational Change Management practices.
- We prefer experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum, XP, Kanban, or scaled Agile practices.
Responsibilities:
- We lead large, complex Agile Release Trains that are strategically important to our business.
- We facilitate ceremonies and work management for the Release Train Team and, where needed, the associated delivery teams.
- We coordinate release planning for the train and delivery teams, including communication with stakeholders and customers during feature definition and delivery.
- We manage the backlog and maintain ALM tool data integrity to support accurate reporting and metric tracking.
- We collect and monitor metrics and KPIs to support visibility and decision-making.
- We coordinate major feature releases and the ongoing delivery of value when multiple teams, release trains, or solution groups are involved.
- We identify, resolve, and mandate issues, while managing dependencies and risks across and between ARTs and delivery teams.
- We use agile delivery metrics and regular ceremonies to drive continuous improvement and strengthen execution against the backlog.
- We participate in the RTE and SM Community of Practice to maintain alignment, learn new approaches, and improve technical and quality practices.
- We collaborate with the RTE and SM community to improve cross-training, coordination, and collaboration across ARTs.
- We apply Agile principles and methods with a pragmatic, stakeholder-focused approach.

We are Cox Automotive, and we are seeking a talented Senior Release Train Engineer to help lead our Agile Release Trains to successful outcomes. In this role, you will serve as a vital connector across multiple scrum teams, improving communication, visibility, risk management, and value delivery across the program. We offer a competitive base salary range of $111,600 to $186,000 per year, with potential eligibility for additional incentive compensation. This is a U.S.-based role that requires candidates to be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship, and to live in the metropolitan area of the job location with at least two in-office days per week.
