The Highlights: Reporting to the Director of the Law Library, the Senior Faculty Services Reference Librarian provides general and in-depth reference and research services to law faculty, law students, university faculty and students, and other library users.

The Senior Faculty Services Reference Librarian is committed to a culture of learning, combining strong organizational and supervisory skills with enthusiasm to support innovation in the Reference Department through services.

This position is primarily responsible for developing, coordinating, managing, and implementing the law library's reference services and policies.

What You'll Do
  1. Manage and oversee faculty support and reference services for all law library patrons.
  2. Supervise and coordinate efforts of the law library's professional librarians, including:
  3. Interviewing, selecting, supervising, performance appraisal, training, and career development of professional staff.
  4. Establishing policies and practices for reference and faculty research support.
  5. Coordinate and participate in the faculty liaison program and research instruction.
  6. Assist in hiring, training, and supervising support staff.
  7. Participate in team efforts to deliver high-quality service and ensure efficient library operations.
  8. Prepare and deliver research presentations for seminars and courses; author and edit research guides (LibGuides); contribute content to the library website; organize faculty publication displays.
Other Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency with computers and library systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with others.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited program.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Strong knowledge of legal information sources and research methods.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in group instruction and emerging research technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of reference experience in an academic law library.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $64,662 - $85,045.09/year, dependent on experience and education.

Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan with 10% matching, tuition waivers, generous paid time off, and more.
