Job Summary
To support the growth of the company, Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Sr Reefer Trailer Technician. This dedicated on-site position involves performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and other duties such as aluminum and chem-lite work, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, and replacement of panels, body, and framework. Work is performed at the customer's site. The Technician II can perform more advanced repairs under supervision and assists senior technicians in learning additional skills.
Duties
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment, DOT inspections on trucks and trailers, with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose and repair/replace compressors, coils, electrical components, etc.
- Follow safe operating practices and manage parts inventory.
- Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and inspections.
- Apply technical knowledge acquired through training or experience to perform duties.
- Communicate effectively with clients and support team, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and regulations.
- Document work performed and upload pictures using company devices and applications.
- Complete DOT and other documentation accurately and timely.
- Work independently, maintain productivity, and work within standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from vendors as needed and communicate with management for approvals.
- Perform all work following safety protocols and company policies.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment and systems.
- Diagnose, test, and listen to defective equipment to identify malfunctions.
- Assist senior technicians with diagnostics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
- Certified to use refrigerants R134, R404, R410, etc.
- Possess and supply necessary hand tools.
- OEM training and certifications preferred.
- Ability to pass DOT physical and background checks, hold a valid driver's license, and meet age requirements.
- Required certifications such as ASE T8 (PMI), ASE 608/609, and others within 18 months.

Hourly pay ranges from $34.38 to $51.59. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
