Executive Summary: HRUCKUS is seeking a Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator with over 10 years of experience. The successful candidate will manage and optimize the AOC’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. They will also be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
  • Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
  • Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
  • Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.
  • Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.
  • Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
  • Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) issued by Red Hat.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or postgraduate degree, in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Experience with Working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking.
  • Experience with Administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
  • Experience with Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below:
  • Oracle WebLogic Servers
  • Oracle Database Servers
  • Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge
  • vSphere hosted RHEL Servers
  • Rubrik backup systems
  • Oracle Database backups
  • PeopleSoft
  • Elastic Search
  • Oracle OBI
  • Experience with Red Hat performance tuning.
  • Experience with Load balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with Working in an environment that requires 24/7 system availability.
  • Experience with Application development.
  • Experience with Red Hat Support.
  • Experience with Electronic Imaging Support.
  • Ability to Work in a team environment.
  • Ability to Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
  • Ability to Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Ability to Interface with users and helpdesk for day-to-day support.
  • Ability to Provide Backup/recovery and networking methodologies.
  • Ability to Troubleshoot at the Operating System (OS), database, and application levels.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat administration including configuration and tuning.
