Job summary

Oscar seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager to lead post-contract cost management for a major data center project in Oregon. You will own cost reporting, budgets, and cost-to-complete forecasts, and challenge contractor pricing while advising the client and project team.

This client-facing role requires strong post-contract QS/cost management experience on complex projects, with a preference for consultancy or owner-side backgrounds.

Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager – Data Centers

Up to $170,000 base + bonus, benefits, 401(k) and relocation assistance

We’re partnering with an international construction consultancy to appoint a Senior QS / Cost Manager to support a major data center project in Oregon.

This is a client-facing opportunity to take ownership of post-contract cost management, working closely with the client, contractors and project team to manage expenditure, forecast final costs and provide clear commercial advice.

The role

• Deliver cost reporting, budget monitoring and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Review and negotiate change orders, challenging contractor pricing and supporting documentation.
• Assess payment applications and invoices against contractual requirements and progress.
• Track commitments, expenditure and cash flow.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and contingency.
• Assess the cost implications of schedule changes.
• Support final account negotiations and commercial closeout.
• Build strong working relationships with the client and wider project team.

What we’re looking for

• Strong post-contract quantity surveying or cost management experience on complex construction projects.
• Consultancy or owner-side experience preferred.
• Confidence reviewing contractor submissions, negotiating changes and presenting recommendations to clients.
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting and analytical skills.
• An understanding of how construction sequencing and programme changes affect cost.
• Data center, mission-critical, MEP, electrical or commissioning experience would be advantageous.
• Willingness to work full-time onsite in Oregon.
