Qualifications

• Associate Director/Director level in cost management or owner’s representation.
• Data centre, mission‑critical, or technically complex construction experience.

A leading construction and property consultancy is seeking an experienced Director of Cost Management - Data Centers to support the continued growth of its mission‑critical business across the US.

Following its recent integration with a global Owner’s Rep, the organisation is entering an exciting period of expansion. This is a senior leadership role focused on managing a major data centre developer account, overseeing cost management delivery across multiple live sites, supporting the teams working on those projects, and helping to drive further growth through business development.

The Opportunity

As Director of Cost Management - Data Centres, you will:

• Lead the cost management relationship for a major data centre developer account
• Oversee delivery across multiple data centre projects and sites
• Manage, mentor and support Cost Managers and Quantity Surveyors working on data centre projects across the account
• Act as a key point of contact for senior client stakeholders, ensuring strong service delivery and long‑term relationship growth
• Provide strategic cost advice across pre‑construction, procurement, cost planning, change management and project controls
• Work closely with internal leadership to ensure teams are supported, projects are resourced effectively, and delivery standards are consistent
• Identify opportunities to grow the account and support wider business development across the data centre market
• Contribute to pitches, client meetings and strategic growth initiatives
• Champion best practice, innovation and commercial excellence across mission‑critical project delivery

About You

We’re looking for an experienced cost management leader with strong data centre experience and the ability to manage both client relationships and internal teams.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience operating at Associate Director or Director level within cost management, quantity surveying or owner’s representation
• A strong background delivering data centre, mission‑critical or technically complex construction projects
• Experience managing client accounts and building long‑term relationships with developer or end‑user clients
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and manage teams across multiple project sites
• Strong commercial, procurement and cost planning expertise
• Confidence operating with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership teams
• Business development experience, with the ability to identify opportunities and support growth
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
