Job summary

GE Aerospace in Huntsville, AL seeks a Quality Leader to drive QA across composites manufacturing. You will own KPI improvements, lead a team of quality engineers and metrology staff, and collaborate with engineering to strengthen the quality system.

You will champion APQP, mentor leaders, and ensure compliance with the Quality System while advancing the Zero Defect culture and plant-wide strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering or related field with 5+ years in composites/quality/manufacturing or engineering.
  • Experience leading quality initiatives and KPI improvements in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis and DMAIC approach required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a composites manufacturing site quality outcomes and KPI improvements (QEM, MRB, losses).
  • Drive Zero Defect culture and apply DMAIC to identify actions for improvement.
  • Maintain and improve the site Quality System per APQP and change management for NPI.
  • Lead quality engineers, metrology, calibration, and Zero Defect teams; guide policy and resource use.
  • Influence area strategy, collaborate with Engineering on processes and throughput.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment and stakeholders communication; drive cross-functional programs.

Job Description Summary

Lead rotating parts Huntsville, AL site through quality assurance and control initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director of Quality for the commodity, this leadership staff role is responsible and accountable for meeting all quality influenced plant and Part family KPIs and strategic goals, is a front-line leader with a direct and daily impact on GE Aerospace's most advanced product offerings and has a significant impact/influence on the Part Family strategy in manufacturing, design, quality, and policy.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities

This Quality Leader Position will lead a Composites manufacturing site in Huntsville, AL and is accountable for all Quality outcomes of the manufacturing plant. Ownership of improvement of Quality KPI's-- QEM, MRB line items, and Losses Ownership for improvement of FTY with collaboration from Engineering counterparts. Drive culture shift with Zero Defect Model line approach. Problem solving through DMAIC process and use of statistical tools identifying actions for improvement. Monitor improvements through control phase. Ownership of improving site Quality System along with compliance to the quality system. Champions APQP (Advanced Planning Quality Process) into change management and NPI. Leader of people leaders including quality engineers, metrology, calibration, quality systems, and Zero Defect team. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision. Actively displays the 3 GE leadership behaviors; Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, and Customer-Driven when leading teams and solving problems.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Composites or Chemical Processing Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering). Minimum of 5 years' experience in Composites, Chemical, Quality, and/or Manufacturing or Engineering
