The Role
The Sr. Hardware Quality Engineering Manager (QEM) is responsible for ensuring that our products are designed for quality. From the concept phase the QEM develops a risk assessment using the NUD process (New, Unique, Different) that incorporates lessons learned from previous products and addresses technological, manufacturing and operational risks. The successful candidate will establish quality goals, monitor performance, conduct failure analysis, determine root causes, and implement closed‑loop corrective actions. They will conduct quality lessons learned, institute remedies to prevent recurrence, and manage critical issues with a high sense of urgency. This position also requires onsite support for NPI builds, driving build issues to closure with RCCA/8D, and influencing engineering teams for design improvements, especially in robust RF & antenna solutions critical to beam forming, beam pointing and beam steering.
In this role, you will:
- Understand the technology and functionality of consumer electronic products, assess risk to a negative customer experience, and prevent such risk during development.
- Be an expert in advanced quality methods and protocols.
- Guide cross‑functional teams in Design for Quality initiatives.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of standards, related disciplines and company strategy to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Deliver solutions to complex problems through in‑depth data analysis and forensics, making decisions even with limited information.
- Understand detailed implications of choices and recommendations and communicate recommended solutions up to the executive level.
- Align cross‑functionally, influencing a broad spectrum of stakeholders to deliver on the quality policy.
- Create standards around which others operate and build consensus.
- Ascertain specific quality‑related functional milestones during NPI phases.
- Travel up to 30 % of time domestic and international to onsite factories.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Civil Engineering.
- Experience with program and project management in a matrixed organization, including managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, and influencing others.
- 10+ years of working experience in an engineering or quality role.
- 5+ years of practice experience with statistical tools, strong with quality program management.
- Familiarity with NPI cycles and the Product Development Process for consumer electronics industry.
- Good understanding of electronic assembly processes on consumer electronics.
- Ability to deliver solutions to complex problems through in‑depth data analysis and forensics, using methodical approaches such as DMAIC.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated success with Lean / Six Sigma tools including Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Measurement System Analysis, Analysis of Variance, Hypothesis Testing, Value Stream Mapping, Pareto Charts, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility, Cpk.
- Technical knowledge of conducting process audits and formulating plans to drive continual quality improvements within factory operations.
- Self‑motivated and self‑directed, able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously and flawlessly.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin, desired.
- Ability to travel within China and South Asia Countries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
- 2+ years of antenna design related to 3G/4G/5G technologies, Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth products.
- Master’s Degree in MSME/MSIE/MSEE/MSCE or similar discipline.
- Understanding of technology at the system and commodity level, as well as device software and product usability.
- Design experience in Mechanical & EE Parts, RF / Wireless, ICs, SOCs.
- Language proficiency in Mandarin or Vietnamese is beneficial, but not essential.
- Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database and/or Storage.

Salary and Location
USA, WA, Bellevue – $137,300.00 to $185,700.00 annually.
