SUMMARY
The Sr. Quality Engineer will oversee quality assurance processes, implement quality control measures, and drive continuous improvement. This role will develop, implement, and maintain protocols and procedures to ensure products are manufactured and assembled to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with Six Sigma methodologies, AS9100 standards, and FAA regulatory requirements. A deep understanding of advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Value Stream Mapping is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and FAA regulatory requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances and improve product quality.
- Perform internal audits and support third party audits (e.g., AS9100) to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans, and quality reports.
- Utilize advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Value Stream Mapping to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
- Provide training and support to team members on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Support new product development and introduction processes to ensure quality requirements are met from concept to production.
- Lead and participate in improvement projects and initiatives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Manufacturing/Assembly Operations, Quality, Engineering, and/or Procurement.
- Knowledge Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and FAA regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Reliability Engineer, and/or Certified Quality Auditor certification preferred.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Proficiency with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Familiarity with manufacturing statistical methods, including process capability, Gage R&R, probability, and statistical inference.
