About The Role

The Senior Quality Engineer I at Hoerbiger plays a crucial role in monitoring and enhancing the quality of operational processes and outputs. This position involves implementing effective quality controls aligned with strategic and long-term quality planning objectives. The Senior Quality Engineer I will review and update existing procedures, develop new work instructions, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001:2015. The role requires investigating product or production issues using advanced problem-solving methodologies, developing quality standards for various product lines, and managing supplier and customer quality through SAP modules. Additionally, supporting special sale order requests, including testing, measurement, and documentation, forms an integral part of this position, ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, coupled with 5-8 years of relevant quality experience. Experience working with ERP systems is essential, along with a keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are vital to effectively address quality issues. Excellent oral communication skills are required to listen, clarify, and respond effectively to questions, while strong written communication skills are necessary for product and process analysis, SPC reporting, and vendor/customer relations. The candidate should be proficient in interpreting numerical data and written information, demonstrating the ability to communicate complex quality concepts clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review and update existing procedures and work instructions for all departments, ensuring they contribute to the quality of completed parts and assemblies. Develop new procedures and work instructions as needed to enhance operational efficiency and quality standards.
• Identify root causes of non-conforming events and implement corrective actions. Create training materials for operators to prevent recurrence and improve process robustness.
• Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues utilizing problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and root cause analysis to determine underlying causes and implement effective solutions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining quality systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, ensuring continuous compliance and improvement.
• Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and finished products to verify adherence to quality specifications and standards.
• Develop and implement quality standards across all product lines, including valve assembly and failure analysis, to maintain high-quality output and customer satisfaction.
• Manage supplier and customer quality concerns through SAP return modules, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
• Support special sale order requests that require specific testing, measurement, and documentation such as Certificates of Conformance (CoC), lift tests, Material Test Reports (MTRs), and other quality documentation.
