Job Title: Sr. Quality Engineer

Reporting To: Manager Sr., Engineering

Work Schedule: Onsite – Salt Lake City, UT

Moog is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for markets including satellites, space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance.

Moog’s Space & Defense Group - Salt Lake City Operations is a high production facility for missile steering and turret systems. This rapidly growing business offers significant professional development opportunities. We are seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality requirements to support defense products and contracts.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the quality efforts for assigned programs.
2. Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and government agencies to ensure contract compliance.
3. Develop and evaluate cost-effective inspection plans.
4. Analyze contractual requirements and develop program plans, procedures, and quality codes.
5. Monitor and lead quality programs and initiatives.
6. Assist in determining causes of manufacturing and quality issues.
7. Support failure analysis, DOE, SPC, and process improvements.
8. Review and evaluate suspect materials.
9. Participate in corrective actions and root cause analysis.
10. Support inspection personnel and interfacing departments.
11. Implement group procedures and policies.
12. Continuously improve production efficiency and quality.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years in a quality-related environment; 8+ years preferred.
• Ability to access US export-controlled information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 and AS9102 standards.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Understanding of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, and procurement processes.

Salary Range Transparency:

Salt Lake City, UT: $75,000.00–$145,000.00 annually
