About the Role

Moog’s Space & Defense Group - Salt Lake City Operations is a high production facility for missile steering and turret systems, with significant opportunities for professional development. We are seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality requirements to support defense products and contracts.

Responsibilities

1. Function as the Quality lead for assigned program(s).
2. Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and government agencies to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
3. Lead the creation and evaluation of cost-effective inspection plans.
4. Lead analysis of contractual requirements and development of program plans, procedures, and quality codes.
5. Monitor and lead quality programs and initiatives.
6. Support root cause analysis and resolve manufacturing/quality problems.
7. Assist in failure analysis, DOE, SPC, and process improvements.
8. Review and evaluate suspect materials.
9. Participate in corrective action reviews and root cause analysis.
10. Support inspection personnel and other departments.
11. Implement group procedures and policies.
12. Continuously improve production operations for effectiveness and defect reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific, or analytical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of six years in a quality-related environment; 8+ years preferred.
• Ability to access US export-controlled information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 and AS9102 standards.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Understanding of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, and procurement processes.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range in Salt Lake City, UT: $75,000.00–$145,000.00 annually. Actual salary depends on experience, location, and performance. Benefits include bonuses, stock purchase plans, paid time off, and region-specific perks.
