Sr. Quality Engineer – thyssenkrupp Crankshaft Company, LLC (Danville, Illinois)
• Oversee the quality of parts produced on the line.
• Devise corrective actions to address quality issues, communicate information to the larger team.
• Perform walk‑throughs, review operations and parts disposition on lines, and troubleshoot quality issues.
• Act as IATF internal auditor and maintain IATF internal auditor certification.
• Oversee corrective actions and conduct multidisciplinary team root‑cause investigations for internal problems and customer complaints.
• Conduct MSA studies, SPC analysis, and disseminate MSA and SPC concepts to other employees.
• Prepare PPAP documentation for submission to customers.
• Track scrapped parts, enter in SAP, devise daily scrap reports, maintain scrap PPM, and develop innovative solutions and improvements.
• Train employees on PFMEA, MSA, SPC and PPAP.
• Develop controls for heat‑treat operations at the plants.
• Perform customer special process audits, ensure adherence to heat‑treat processes and CQI‑9 requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or an equivalent foreign degree.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a quality, materials, or product engineering role in crankshaft and steel automotive parts manufacturing industry.
3 years work experience in each of the following:
$79,206 – $96,300 per year.
