Job Scope and Accountabilities:
At Kahua, Inc., Senior QA Test Engineers lead quality efforts within Agile delivery teams, owning all aspects of software testing for our Application Platform as a Service solution for construction project management. You’ll define test strategies, guide automation efforts, and mentor other QA contributors. This role involves developing and executing tests across frontend, backend, and end-to-end workflows. You’ll collaborate with developers, product owners, senior engineers, DevOps, and offshore teams to ensure high-quality releases. Additionally, you’ll help shape automation direction, influence testing best practices, and support process improvements that scale with our growing product and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead QA efforts within an Agile team, including estimation, requirement clarification, daily standups, and sprint reviews.
- Own end-to-end testing responsibilities for assigned features, ensuring full coverage across manual and automated tests.
- Design and implement effective test strategies for both manual and automated validation of new functionality.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases across frontend, backend, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Assign and oversee testing tasks across team members, including mentoring junior and offshore QA engineers.
- Perform hands-on test execution and exploratory testing as needed to validate user stories and detect edge cases.
- Analyze test results, track defects, and ensure accurate and timely documentation of testing activities.
- Review team test results and provide feedback to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with developers (including senior engineers) and product owners to present test outcomes and ensure acceptance of deliverables.
- Contribute to the evolution of test automation frameworks and promote quality engineering best practices to improve test coverage, reliability, and maintainability.
- Support release and deployment testing activities, including after-hours testing when required, to ensure production readiness and quality assurance.
Experience Required:
Required:
- Minimum 6 years prior experience in QA testing role including 3 years of test automation
- Experience mentoring QA engineers and leading testing efforts on Agile teams
- Understanding of software testing principles, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Experience with at least one programming language commonly used in test automation (e.g., C#, Java, Python, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, including basic operations such as branching, merging, and pull requests.
- Experience with continuous build/deployment process
Preferred:
- Experience testing mobile applications
- Familiarity with BDD tools (e.g., SpecFlow, Cucumber) and Gherkin syntax
- Experience with UI based test automation tools, such as Selenium
- Experience with release planning, or QA coordination across multiple teams
- Interest in growing into a QA leadership or management role, with a mindset for coaching, strategic thinking, and scaling quality practices
Education/Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to define effective test scenarios and identify quality risks
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Proven ability to quickly learn new software applications and domains
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive tasks to completion
- Experience guiding and mentoring others, providing clear direction and constructive feedback
