Nuix is seeking a hands-on Senior QA Lead to drive quality engineering and test automation for our software engineering team in Pittsburgh. You will set testing strategy, build and maintain automation, and partner with developers and product stakeholders to deliver reliable releases without slowing the team down.

You will lead test planning, design, and execution across web apps, APIs, and backend services, while mentoring QA engineers and aligning with agile practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software quality assurance experience, including 5+ years in test automation.
• Hands-on experience building automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
• API testing experience using Postman, Karate, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with test case management, regression testing, and defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Strong Agile and DevOps understanding; lead/mentor QA engineers.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior QA Lead to drive quality engineering and test automation for a software engineering team. This person will set the testing strategy, build and maintain automation, and partner closely with developers and product stakeholders to deliver reliable releases without slowing the team down.

• Serve as the QA lead for the engineering team, owning test strategy, planning, and execution
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend services
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing
• Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software quality assurance experience, including 5+ years in test automation
• Strong experience building automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools
• Hands-on API testing experience using Postman, Karate, REST Assured, or similar tools
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
• Experience with test case management, regression testing, and defect tracking tools such as JIRA
• Solid understanding of Agile and DevOps practices
• Experience with Git or similar source control
• Proven experience leading or mentoring QA engineers
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and automation accelerators
• Experience testing data-intensive or analytics applications
• Performance testing experience with JMeter, k6, LoadRunner, or similar tools
• Familiarity with SQL and validating data across systems
• Experience with accessibility testing
• Experience supporting security-sensitive or regulated environments
• Prior experience as a QA Lead or Quality Engineering Lead embedded in a development team
