Job summary

SMC³ is seeking a QA Testing Engineer III to design and maintain manual and automated tests supporting product quality. You will lead test strategy, identify quality risks, and support continuous delivery with modern QA tools, including Playwright or similar frameworks, while ensuring secure testing practices.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, Security, and stakeholders to validate product behavior, execute risk-based testing, and contribute to release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area of study or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of software testing experience, including automated testing.
• 2–3 years of performance and load testing.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests using Playwright, Claude Code, or comparable AI-assisted tools.
• Experience testing APIs, UIs, integrations, back-end services, and data-driven system behavior (XML/JSON).
• Experience using Jira or similar work-tracking tools in Agile environments.
• Strong analytical skills and QA testing knowledge to define problems, assess risk, and determine test coverage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment with changing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, maintain, and document manual and automated API, UI, regression, integration, and performance tests.
• Lead product-area test strategy and make risk-based coverage decisions.
• Support release readiness and maintain automation using Playwright or comparable tools.
• Communicate defects effectively and work with product owners to address backlog items.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Software Engineers, Scrum Masters, QA, and stakeholders to ensure security and data handling in tests.
• Query raw data sources to verify accuracy of product responses and results.
• Provide recommendations for test strategy and automation maintainability.
