Role Summary

The Sr. Purchasing Manager of Indirect Procurement for Facilities Construction Materials will oversee strategic sourcing and supplier management for Rivian's real estate expansion across North America and Europe. This role supports capital expenditure initiatives in retail, service centers, workplaces, and charging infrastructure, leading sourcing events and process improvements for indirect categories such as design/construction services and materials. The position is onsite in Plymouth, MI, Irvine, CA, or Palo Alto, CA, reporting to the Group Manager of Construction and Facilities Purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Facilities and Branded Environments stakeholders to meet budgets and technical requirements.
• Develop sourcing strategies based on spend analysis, project plans, supply base, and market conditions.
• Lead RFP processes and analyze bids for cost and qualifications.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, working closely with Rivian Legal.
• Identify and review potential suppliers, developing commodity strategies and roadmaps.
• Manage project milestones, ensuring delivery from design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Drive value through contracting national accounts, consolidating spend, and process efficiencies.
• Mitigate project risks and resolve issues collaboratively.
• Implement cost-saving negotiations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish supplier performance metrics and manage relationships.
• Ensure contracts align with project budgets and savings goals.
• Analyze spend data for cost reduction opportunities.
• Work with stakeholders to meet technical requirements and track sourcing progress.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration and change management.
• Assist with market research, emphasizing sustainability, equity, and diversity goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing.
• At least 3 years sourcing facilities or construction materials like furniture, signage, or architectural finishes.
• Knowledge of real estate development, design, and construction principles.
• Understanding of the construction labor market and commodities trends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in sourcing and collaboration tools such as BuildingConnected, Coupa, and Jira.

Pay Disclosure

Salary ranges vary by location: Michigan: $98,500 - $123,100; Southern California: $107,800 - $134,800; Northern California: $117,200 - $146,500. Actual compensation depends on experience and other factors.
